Silos

We have activated some silos for the Silos On The Air program. Activators set up their Amateur Radio station with 1km of a registered silo, while chasers operate from home, or elsewhere, and try to contact the activator. By activating or chasing silos, and submitting their logs, operators gain recognitian on the SiOTA website.

When we pull up at a silo we extend our mobile HF whip antenna for better performance:

We clamp a 12m telescopic carbon-fibre mast to our mobile antenna mount, then clip on a 10m wire extension to our Barrett 2019 Autotune Antenna
